St. John’s Women’s Guild hosts Sewing Party!
On Saturday, May 6th, 2017, St. John’s hosted a sewing party to make dresses for the organization Little Dresses for Africa. Nearly 30 dresses were sewn that day.
Thanks to everyone who gave of their time, talents, and materials. We will continue to collect dresses through the summer and send them off in August.
About Little Dresses for Africa
Little Dresses for Africa, founded in 2008, is a registered non-profit 501c3 Christian organization. Their mission is to provide relief to vulnerable children throughout the Continent of Africa and beyond. Volunteers from all over the world join together to make little dresses out of pillow cases or other simple patterns. Some sew. Some donate. Some go to Africa, and some send others.
Little Dresses for Africa sends the donated dresses through missions teams, mails them directly to verified communities and takes them personally with their short term teams. Donations are distributed through orphanages, churches, and schools. Together, we can make a difference. For more opportunities, visit their website www.littledressesforafrica.org.
