Announcements for May 8, 2016

Welcome Marty and Hannah Rademacher and their family to our church family! It is a blessing to have you join us as members at St. John’s.
Happy Mother’s Day! The flowers handed out today are from the Sunday School and Joyce Willems. The kids will be handing out the flowers not just to mothers, but also grandmothers, aunts, sisters, and all special ladies. The 24 pink flowers represent Joyce’s 24 years of being a breast cancer survivor. She was first diagnosed in 1992 and again in 2012. She and her family have been walking in the “Race for the Cure” since it started 24 years ago, and will continue to support the fight against breast cancer. She also wishes to thank those who have donated to the walk. If anyone else is interested in donating or walking, you can contact her directly or visit her site.
During the month of May, the loose offerings will be donated to Ron Bachmann’s GoFundMe account. The church will be making a matching donation up to $500. If you write a check, make sure to note that it is for the fund.
Next Women’s Guild Meeting: Monday, May 9^th at 6pm.
Church and Grounds Clean-up: Sunday, May 22^ndafter worship. Mark Polzin is compiling a list of tasks. There will be something for everyone to do. A meal will be provided for all the helpers.
Bongards Market: It will run June 1^st to August 31^st. A sign up sheet is on the bulletin board for openers and closers. The time will be 3pm to 7pm.
Next Consistory Meeting: Wednesday, June 1st at 430pm.
Next Faith and Fellowship and 150^th Anniversary Planning Committee Meeting: Wednesday, June1st at 545pm.
June 10^th and 11^th: 2016 Minnesota Conference Annual Meeting in St Joseph, MN at the College of St. Benedict. Times are Friday 9 AM to 7PM and Sat. 8AM to 7 PM. Contact Woody for more details.
Youth Outing: June 12th at Big Thrill Factory. Contact Michelle Bachmann for details.
Vacation Bible School: July 24^th to 28^th, 630pm to 830pm. A planning meeting will be May 22^nd, 3pm at Michelle’s home.
