The Waconia United Food Shelf has been a staple in downtown Waconia for many years serving Waconia, Cologne, Victoria, St. Boni, Minnestrista, and New Germany. In partnership with St. Joe’s and awarded grant funds we are remodeling our main level the last two weeks of October.
We have a tight timeline in hopes to get all work done and open for inside shopping November 1st. With this big effort comes a need for volunteers to help with various tasks. Would you help us spread the word for this need by sharing the link to our Sign-Up Genius with your congregation? At this time we are requesting adults (18+) only as there will be many moving parts and most of the need involves physical work. This could also be a fun way for your staff to sign up as a team to make an impact together!

Although most of the financial need is covered through grants, we still have purchases related to the remodel on our list. Besides physically volunteering, people can also contribute to our improvements financially by check (mail to PO Box 577, Waconia) or our website (waconiafoodshelf.org). We will continue to serve our shoppers through a curbside model during these two weeks as our household numbers continue to rise each month and the need continues to grow for food stability in our area.
We will be communicating with our communities more about what this remodel means for how we intend to elevate our service model going forward!
Feel free to reach out with any questions! Thanks for your consideration!
Thank you for your time,
