St. John’s United Church of Christ will celebrate the installation of Rev. Scott Siefert as its 16th called pastor on Sunday, July 17 at 2:00 pm. All are welcome to attend. Area clergy are also invited to wear the stole of their choice. An ice-cream social and time of fellowship will follow the service in Fellowship Hall. The service will be available on the church’s Facebook page and an edited recording will be available later on their YouTube channel.

Established on January 2, 1866, St. John’s continues to be an area landmark in rural Carver county at the crossroads of County Road 51 and Highway 212. Its mission is simply stated as “Love God, connect with others, serve others, and live abundantly.” In addition to taking its Christian mission into the community, it is most known for the witty and thoughtful sayings on its lighted road sign and its seasonal farmers market.
