Good morning all,
We will be meeting at 6:00 at David and Cindy’s and on Zoom. We will continue on Part 13, The Lifeblood of the Church. Read from The Lord’s Supper to Peter Tries to be Faithful (Pp 114-118). Our Basic Bible References for this week are:
Matthew 26:31-75 (Peter’s Denial Foretold; Jesus Prays in Gethsemane; The Betrayal and Arrest of Jesus; Jesus Before the High Priest; and Peter’s Denial of Jesus)
Philippians 2:6-8 (part of Imitating Christ’s Humility)
Peter’s story during this time breaks my heart. We start our readings with Peter saying, “Even though I must die with you, I will not deny you,” and ending with him remembering that Jesus said, “Before the crock crows, you will deny me three times.” and he went out and wept bitterly.
Our Question of the Week is, “Have you ever made a promise and then was unable to fulfill it? Have you ever had someone make a promise to you and then not fulfill it? How did you feel? Did you seek forgiveness or were you able to forgive? Why or why not?”
