Good afternoon all,
Wishing you all a belated Happy Mother’s Day. I felt the Spirit with us on Sunday. And this Sunday we officially welcome the Spirit that is with us and we celebrate the Day of Pentecost. I hope that you are either enjoying this wonderful weather or are able to (as the saying goes) make hay while the sun shines.
We are getting the gang back together again on Thursday at David and Cindy’s and on ZOOM. We will only have one more session on Thursday, May 23rd, before we will break for the summer. Our basic Bible Reference for this week is:
Galatians 4:1-5:15 (end of The Purpose of the Law; Paul Reproves the Galatians; The Allegory of Hagar and Sarah; and the Nature of Christian Freedom).
John 8:34-36 (part of True Disciples)
One of the major themes in this letter is Freedom in Christ. Paul says at 5:1, “For freedom Christ has set us free. Stand firm, therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.” Our Question of the Week is, “What do you think freedom in Christ looks like? Is this freedom different from what others may call freedom? How can we live out his freedom in our daily lives today?”
