Hello all!
I hope everyone is well. We will continue our discussion on John 3 this week. Can you believe that our guide expected us to cover Chapters 3 and 4 in one session. You can not call our group slackers, that is for sure. Like I have been saying, this is important scripture and one of the beautiful things about our group is that we go at our pace.
If you want to familiarize yourself with where we are in the Guide, read from John the Baptizer Leaves the Stage to Realized Eschatology (pp30-32). Our Basic Bible Reference for the week is:
John 3:22-36 (Jesus and John the Baptist and The One Who Comes From Heaven)
John the Baptist says at vs 30: “He must increase, but I must decrease.” Our Questions of the Week are, “How can we apply this statement to our own lives? What does it look like for us to decrease so that Jesus may increase?”
Do not fear all of you that may want to dig into the last section of John 3 and the Guide’s section on Realized Eschatology. Looking at where we are, it wouldn’t make sense to dive into Jesus and the Woman at the Well this week. While she is not named in the Gospel, her discussion is going to teach us quite a bit. And like the Woman at the Well, all of us have a voice that is to be shared, honored, and affirmed.
