Soup for the Soul – January 2, 2025

Hello and Happy New Year!

 

I hope everyone is well as we get ready to flip the calendar to 2025. I have enjoyed our conversations the past year and look forward to where we will go in the new year. Thank you to all who were able to come into our Zoom only storm session on Luke 2:1-20. 

 

We are picking up where we left off in John 6. We have been “chewing” on the Bread of Life Discourse that is John Chapter 6. 

 

We will finish Part 5 of the Guide, Healing and Believing, this week. Please read from Who is He? Where Did He Come From? (Pp 42-43). Our Basic Bible Reference for this week is:

 

John 6:51-71 (end of The Bread from Heaven and The Words of Eternal Life)

 

Jesus says at verse 53, “Very truly, I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you.” This statement both informs and challenges us. Our Question of the Week is: How does this statement connect with Holy Communion? How can participating in Holy Communion deepen our relationship with Jesus and transform us? What does this passage teach us about trusting Jesus, even when his words or actions are difficult to understand?
