2. Talk about the theme
Let the children and youth know that in addition to exhibiting artistic creativity and talent the winning art will relate to the theme and be suitable for the front of a postcard that easily conveys to others our message of hope.
3. Tell parents and guardians about the terms and conditions
A parent/guardian will need to consent to the submission of their child’s artwork to this contest. This can happen in one of two ways. Parents/guardians can go to the submission portal themselves to enter their child’s artwork. Often, however, a point person at the church is the one submitting the art. In doing so, be prepared to provide an up-to-date email address where the parent/guardian can receive a link to complete the permission form. Please let parents and guardians know in advance that they will receive an email from Sue Mueller of the UCC inviting them to agree to the terms and conditions for entering the contest. The subject of the email will be: “Your child’s submission to the UCC’s Climate Hope Art Contest.”
4. Upload the artwork
Once the art is completed and gathered, the art will need to be scanned and uploaded between February 2nd and March 14th. The email addresses of parents and guardians will be added at this time, so that they receive an email requesting their agreement to the terms and conditions.

5. Attend the award ceremony
Art contest leaders along with parents and guardians will be notified of the finalists by March 28th. The award ceremony will be held on April 5th. In the ceremony, we will have winners for different age groups and an overall winner who will receive an all-expense paid trip to visit Washington, DC with a parent or guardian. The winner will advocate with the offices of their congress members, tour the Capitol, and learn how they can bring their faith values to life in the halls of power.
