We had another good discussion last week and it was good to have David, Cindy, and Karen back with us!
We will finish up Chapter 16 and get started into Chapter 17. Chapter 17 is often referred to as The High Priestly Prayer. Read from Asking Jesus to Prayer For His Friends (Pp 97-100). Our Basic Bible Reference is:
John 16:25-17:21 (Peace for the Disciples; and the beginning of Jesus Prays for His Disciples).
Jesus ends the Farewell Discourse and then prays The High Priestly Prayer over the disciples. Our Question(s) of the Week are: Why do you think Jesus prays out loud for his disciples at this moment? Many times we read instruction to the disciples as instruction to us today. If Jesus were praying this prayer over you, what phrase would you most hope to hear? Why?
My plan is going is for us to finish Chapter 17 next week and then we will begin to sync up with worship and Sunday school for Advent.
