Good afternoon all,
Good morning fellow chefs,
We are taking a little break from John and will pick back up and finish that Gospel when it will align with the Lenten and Easter seasons.
The last couple of weeks we have read of Mary in Luke. This week the emphasis will move to Joseph and the Gospel of Matthew. We will also read of Isaiah and his prophecy of the coming of Immanuel. Our Basic Bible References this week are:
Isaiah 7:10-16 (Isaiah Gives Ahaz the Sign of Immanuel)
Matthew 1:18-26 (The Birth of Jesus the Messiah)
Both Mary and Joseph have a colossal disruption to what their plans must have been as they had gotten engaged and looked to begin their lives together. Our Question(s) of the Week are: When things happen that disrupt your plans or challenges your comfort, how have you reacted? Have you ever been able to see it as an invitation for change? How is God inviting you, like Mary and Joseph, to trust, to and to make room for “God with us” in the everyday realities of your life?
As always, I look forward to hearing from everyone and investigating how scripture can make a difference in our lives today. We will have a hard stop at 7:00 on Thursday in order for folks to go to Chad Feltmann’s viewing. Stay warm and be well. See you on Thursday.
