Good morning all,
Tuesday was Epiphany. Christianity.com defines it as: Epiphany is a time of revelation. Jesus revealed himself to the Israelites and the Gentiles as represented by the Wise Men. God doesn’t play favorites but receives all whose hearts long for him. For the full article click here.
We will be reading and discussing the traditional Epiphany scriptures on Thursday. They include:
Isaiah 60:1-6 (Nations Come to the Light)
Matthew 2:1-12 (Christ Revealed to the Nations)
As the article from Christianity points out, Epiphany is meant to be a time of revelation. Our Question(s) of the Week is: Do you feel like Christ has revealed himself to you? Why or why not? How does that revelation (or lack thereof) impact your Christian identity?
The magi followed the light of the star. It was meaningful to me, and hopefully some of you, that last week’s worship service was on the losses that we have experienced in the past year and for many of us are still fresh and raw. Ginny’s son Tim’s funeral is scheduled for a week from Thursday. Chris and I will attend and we will not have Bible study next week. Thank you to all of you who I believe represent the light in the world. I look forward to our discussion this week.
