Soup for the Soul – January 29, 2026

Good morning all,

I hope that everyone is staying safe and warm. Thank you so much for your flexibility and meeting with Zoom only last week. It still made for a wonderful and engaging conversation. I ask that you pray for all of those who are suffering during this time.

Speaking of prayer we will be covering the most well known and arguably the most important prayer that Jesus’ teaches us the next two weeks. The Lord’s Prayer. There are two different versions in the Gospels and we will begin with Matthew’s version and then will read Luke’s version next week. Like the Beatitudes, I believe the Lord’s Prayer is important enough to take our time and engage it more fully.

Our basic scripture readings this week are:

Matthew 6:5-15 (Concerning Prayer)

Exodus 16:13-16 (part of Bread from Heaven)

Since I have selected a reading that emphasizes “Give Us This Day Our Daily Bread”:  Our Question(s) of the Week are:  What does “enough for today” look like in my life right now, and how does that shape the way I pray? How might my life change if I trusted in God’s daily provision?
