Soup for the Soul – February 12, 2026

Good morning all, 

 

We are returning to our study of the Gospel of John as we close in on the Lenten season. We will pick up where we left off in December. It is my hope that our study will provide even more depth for our spirits as we move through the season toward Easter. 

 

Please read from the beginning of Chapter 12, “Jesus Condemned” through the section titled Peter’s Failure (Pp 104-107) in our guide (That You May Believe) which is attached. Our Basic Bible Reference is: 

 

John 18:1-18 (The Betrayal and Arrest of Jesus; Jesus Before the High Priest; and Peter Denies Jesus) 

 

Peter’s denial is one of the most heart wrenching scriptures in the Gospel. Our Question of the Week is: When have you found yourself staying quiet about your faith, values, or convictions in order to stay safe, fit in, or avoid discomfort and what might it look like to seek God’s grace in that moment rather than judge yourself for it?
